Polyfidelity
Updated:Polyfidelity is a form of non-monogamous relationship in which all members are considered equal partners and agree to restrict sexual activity to only other members of the group. This creates a closed relationship system, similar to monogamy, but involving more than two people. In polyfidelitous relationships, all partners are committed to each other with the same level of fidelity expected in monogamous relationships.
Additional Information
Polyfidelity differs from other forms of polyamory in that it involves a closed group, rather than an open network of relationships. This structure can provide a sense of security and stability for those involved. Polyfidelitous relationships can involve any number of people of any gender or sexual orientation. Communication, trust, and consent are crucial elements in maintaining healthy polyfidelitous relationships.
Examples
A triad (three people) in a committed, closed relationship where all members are sexually and romantically involved with each other.
A group of four or more individuals who have agreed to be sexually exclusive within their group, forming a "poly family."
