Labia

Labia, also known as the "lips" of the vulva, are folds of skin that surround and protect the vaginal opening and other external genitalia in individuals with female reproductive anatomy. There are two pairs of labia: the labia majora (outer lips) and the labia minora (inner lips). The labia majora are typically larger, fleshier, and covered with pubic hair, while the labia minora are smaller, thinner, and hairless.

The appearance, size, and color of labia can vary significantly from person to person. It's entirely normal for the labia minora to be visible outside the labia majora, and asymmetry between the left and right sides is common. The labia play a crucial role in sexual arousal and pleasure, as they contain numerous nerve endings and can become engorged with blood during sexual excitement.

Maintaining good hygiene of the labia is important for overall genital health. However, it's essential to note that the vulva is self-cleaning, and excessive washing or use of harsh products can disrupt its natural balance.
