Tribadism
Updated:Tribadism, also known as tribbing, is a sexual practice primarily associated with lesbian and bisexual women. It involves genital-to-genital contact, typically with one partner rubbing their vulva against their partner's vulva, thigh, or other body parts for sexual stimulation. The term comes from the Greek word "tribein," meaning "to rub."
Additional Information
While often associated with lesbian sex, tribadism can be practiced by people of any gender or sexual orientation. It's sometimes confused with "scissoring," which is a specific position involving interlocking legs. Tribadism can be performed in various positions and doesn't always involve direct genital contact.
This practice can provide clitoral stimulation and, for some, can lead to orgasm. Like any sexual activity, communication, consent, and safe sex practices are important. Using dental dams or other barriers can help reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections during tribadism.
